Hey everyone! I’m back with another post today with some useful information on my most prized traveling essentials.
Now as most of you probably know, I’m a backpacker which means that I can’t take EVERYTHING with me when I’m traveling. If I did, I’d probably walk 10 steps then drop all of my stuff because it would be way too much for me to carry. Good news is, I’ve got a couple of things that are essential for a great travel – and it’s just a few things! Now I’m not going to go through the typical things you would bring like your toothbrush and stuff like that. Instead, I’m going to let you in on some of my secrets to saving room while traveling!
First on the list is shampoo. Now, I know that shampoo can be heavy and you probably need more than just that mini travel sized edition when you’re going on a month-long trip. Instead, take a solid shampoo bar! It’s basically shampoo but in solid form. It looks like soap and you rub it on your head and it immediately lathers up real nice. You can also use this as a body soap! Might as well kill two birds with one stone right?
Second on the list is a quick-dry travel towel – also known as a pillow, beach towel, blanket, cover-up, etc. You get the gist. I brought a quick-dry towel and it folded up so compactly that it fit nicely into the palm of one of my hands. I used it as a cover-up at the beach, then as a beach towel, a pillow in the hostels, and a blanket on the plane. It was super soft, fuzzy, and also kept me warm.
Third most important thing on my list was my alert medical bracelet. Obviously this is extremely important to pack because since I’m a diabetic, I often worry about times when I’m not able to speak a certain language and I need help. Luckily there are medical bracelets that are recognized internationally so I never have to worry about being sick and not getting help. I even wear it out as jewelry to spice up an outfit! Honestly, this should probably be at the top of the list.
So these are my three travel essentials to stay compactly packed, safe, and comfortable! Shampoo keeps me clean, towel keeps me warm, and medical id bracelets for diabetes keeps me alive!
